JOE SUTTER: the development of the Boeing 747

Mobility

Boeing 747 was the first wide-body passenger and transport airplane to be produced in aviation, and is often referred to as the Jumbo Jet. Its development was led by Joseph Frederick “Joe” Sutter, an American-Slovenian aeronautics engineer. Sutter and his team became known as The Incredibles after completing the largest aircraft of the period in a mere 29 months.
