The Slovenian Philharmonic, founded in 1701 as the Academia Philharmonicorum, is one of the oldest music institutions in Europe. Its honorary members were many famous composers such as Haydn, Beethoven and Brahms, and even Gustav Mahler was the conductor of its orchestra in 1881/82.
